Dr. George Lainas was born in 1979 in Athens . He is an Obstetrician-Gynaecologist specialised in IVF.
He performed the first part of his studies at the Medical School of the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy and he cocluded his studies at the Medical School of the University of Athens.
He specialized in Obstetrics-Gynaecology in the United Kingdom where he worked at Kings University Hospital, Fetal Medicine Foundation under Professor Nicolaides.
Subsequently he served as a Senior House Officer, Junior and Senior Registrar at the Royal London University Hospital with active participation in the scientific and educational activities of the clinic.
He performed his subspecialty training in Reproductive Medicine at St. Bartolomews University Hospital.
Georgios Lainas is a PhD candidate of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
His research work has a significant contribution in the improvement of treatment protocols and prevention of severe complications in IVF.
He is a regularly invited speaker at international scientific conferences and seminars and a reviewer in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
Dr Lainas is Coordinator elect of the Reproductive Endocrinology Special Interest Group of the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE), the largest society in Reproductive Medicine worldwide. He has also served as a Junior and Senior Deputy of the SIG Reproductive Endocrinology of ESHRE from 2014 until 2018.
Dr Lainas is also a member of the Guideline Development Group of Ovarian Stimulation and also a member of the European committee for the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) in Ovarian Stimulation.
He has authored and co-authored 22 clinical studies in international scientific journalsfollowed by 436 Bibliographic citations (h-index: 13, SCOPUS - November 2018).
